Well what do we have here? I'm blogging ain't I? Nobody blogs nowadays since Facebook and Twitter killed off the previous generation of social media.

Things have been going smoothly for me in the Army now. Come to think of it, all I'm left with is a few more field camp training till September and then its exercise Wallaby. A few half marathons here and some other lame trainings there plus standby Ops after Wallaby, I'll be considered done with the Army! Its less then a year for me to my ORD.

Army aside, Bibek's leaving the country soon and I'm trying to come to terms with it. Its not easy losing a good friend. I'm not even sure when I'll get to see him again. What ever time I have now with him is to be greatly cherished. Hah this sounds kinda gay huh? I mean it in a very straight, non- gay, good friend kind of thing!

To end of with this post, I have to admit I'm still a pathetic piece of shit for thinking of her still. No matter what people say and what I say to people, deep down somewhere, she's still there. Its an agonizingly difficult journey to forget. I guess i have to meet new girls in order to forget.

Nobody looks at blogs now anyway.

Ah the last day of 2010 and here we all go again. People wishing for a happy new year, new resolutions and moving on from mistakes made in previous years.

To sum up my 2010: Attachment over, had an empty spot in my heart filled, Nepal, had my heart broken, work to kill time and finally Army.

Its a brand new year in 2011 and i had wished for many things to happen, but well whoever fulfills their resolutions?

Its been a while since I'm here. Army has been great so far. Important thing was the friends that i made there. Without them I guess I would not be able to hang on so long. Anyway, I'm prepared to have my weekends burned from this month onwards till next year. A few live firing and lots of outfields along with with guard duties to take them up. Nevertheless, I'm glad since I got an extra $100 for achieving a silver for my IPPT.

Anyway, had my live demolition range at SAFTI on Monday and i swear its one hell of an experience! So i was building this side charge and it turned out to be one of the most explosive charges, and to think i was still swinging the charge on my hands! We set up the charge 300 m from our safe point and the blast still manage to send gravel to my feet!

Work has been easy so far. Working with a crazy fool is another bonus. So far our job is mostly earned by walking approximately 8 km in total a day, otherwise we would become utility workers. Now everyday has become routinely fun.

Watched Ip Man 2 with the bros today, with the exception of Yu Qi since he had to work. Honestly it was a very plain, cliched movie where the Chinese martial artist would fight some heavy weight ang moh champion. One would know how the story would end. However, the character Ip Man is very interesting. Both the first and second movie portrayed him as an upright man following strict principles. He is also passionate about Chinese martial arts so much so that he would not allow it to be insulted. The virtues and values he displayed makes me very proud to be a Chinese though some people might find it weird. A quote by him after winning a major fight has inspired me.

Anyway Liverpool lost yet again. Terrible season. Reflects my year too, but I'm sure they'll bounce back like how they did it against AC Milan back then in the champions league final. I'll work hard to bounce back too!

Break Free

Now i truly do not believe that hard work will be followed by success. Imagine working out, being fully muscular, strong and full of passion. Then the goal is to work hard so that you cant walk through a wall with all your might. Ain't gonna work out. Thing is hard work has to go the correct place otherwise it's all effort down the drain. Maybe, just maybe that after years of trying to walk through a wall might create some cracks in the concrete but it doesn't change the fact that you're not gonna make it through.

The thing is this. If you're determined to make it through the wall, use a hammer, use a bulldozer and not just simply walking into the wall and hoping to make it to the other side. That's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna achieve something. I'm gonna prove that success doesn't have to be achieved through conventional ways. Who knows i might be able to break stupid stereotypes along the way? If i can't convince one out of their insecurities, I'll break their lousy stereotypes by proving them wrong.

Now excuse me for I have a hurdle in the form of Army to clear.

Bottom of my valley

Everyone has their ups and downs certain points in their lives. I wouldn't deny being at one of the lowest valley right now and with no one for support. Even for some whom i heavily depend on has left me. Never have i been so low in my life before.

I watched the Pursuit Of Happyness back in Nepal and i could relate to the protagonist. He was sinking into poverty and just when he needed his wife for support most, she left him. Then he has the impossible climb to make by feeding not just himself but also his son. Not just that, he needs to work hard in order to land himself a steady job. Its by his superhuman willpower that he managed to scrape through and finally achieve something significant. Mind you, this was based on a true story!

Thinking back on the movie now, it reminds me of myself. It brings me back to the cold hard reality that makes life what it is. Many times, it's not just laziness that landed me in this state (which some people would like to think). Sometimes, its a series of soul-sickening failures and defeats, missed opportunities, sure things that didn't quite happen, bad luck and bad choices that have gotten me where i am. To some, these factors may just be excuses but for those who haven't been in my shoes, they wouldn't know how much things like bad choices and luck can destroy a person.

People have left me like how the wife left the protagonist. It doesn't feel good at all and it's another effort to pull me right to the bottom of my valley. It has already happened, but now i have a mountain to climb. I'll make sure i pull myself out of this pit. It's never gonna be easy climbing the enormous mountain that i have fallen, but I'll do it

D-Day

Its the end of attachment and of course I'm really glad! However, the make or break point for me is what comes at 2pm later. I'm jittery all over and after what happened with the O level results, i don't dare to raise my hopes. As of now I'm preparing for the worst. What makes it worse is that I don't have a good feeling about it.

Anyway, all the best to the rest who are in the same boat as me. Hope you guys ain't feeling what i feel now.

So Sylvia and i planned a birthday surprise for Bibek and we carried it out yesterday night. Thing is, its supposed to be a surprise in a surprise as she's doing it for me as well since mine wasn't celebrated but i kinda knew what was happening. Anyway, it was fun as we managed to cream Bibek. He even creamed himself EHEH!! ^^ We ate, we took Polaroid photos and we had fun. Then Sylvia gave Bibek and i a travel care pack! Well even though that won't last us for 12 days, its the thought that counts! I like it a lot!

I have this view of a garden on top of a multi-storey car park opposite my block. Its beautiful whenever the flowers bloom, but the recent heatwave destroyed them all. Now the entire garden looks like autumn have just started. Dead leaves everywhere and all the leaves have fallen. WHERE IS THE RAIN?? sigh... really miss those times where there is heavy rain. Brings back memories of when i played in the rain with some close friends. Well things have changed now and we're living our own separate lives.

I don't deny now that I'm feeling pretty jealous now since quite a lot of my friends are ending their attachment very soon. However, I'm feeling really happy for them. I can even feel their excitement! My turn will soon come plus i have the Nepal trip to fall back on so there's no reason for me to complain! Let's all race towards the final lap of our attachment!!

Alright, so here's overdue photos of my meetup with bb and sylvia last week, or was it two weeks ago? I can't remember. Watched Avatar with bb before meeting Sylvia for dinner. Avatar was a milestone considering the 3D effects being manifested to such an extent.

Wednesday was BBQ with the bros. Wasn't too bad even though ther were some glitches here and there. We all had fun! Next up is Laozheng's bday celebration. Today is Christmas day and its my second off day in a row as well. I'll give myself a very good rest and endure for the remaining 2 and a half weeks for attachment till the switch!

Work has been crazy nowadays. They gave me 16 rooms with like 11 checkouts yesterday, then 16 rooms again with 7 checkouts today. I was doing fine initially but fatigue sets in after dragging on for a long time doing so many checkout rooms. Today marks the second month doing rooms and there's gonna be one more left before the highly anticipated switch with Qh. I guess this last month doing rooms would pass really slow due to my anticipation sigh...

Been listening to Jimmy eat world's songs nowadays. Not too shabby. I like the song Work by them. Sounds good. Today also marked the tenth month since i made known my feelings for you.

So Bb and i went for another round at Lagnaa, an Indian restaurant which attracts tourists and locals alike.The food is good. I love their Chicken Briyani and Butter Chicken, which is just on a scale of level 1.5 in their spiciness level.There's a total of ten levels. So the rule goes that if anyone is able to eat something on a spice level of 7 and above without sweating and without having any drinks, would get their name up on the board and have the dish served for free. So far the highest ever a person reached is level nine who happens to be a Nepalese as well. Tsk tsk what about you ah Bibek?

As for me, I'm the one who can't really take spice, so I already failed even at level 1.5 sigh... Still the dishes were very nice. I simply love the Briyani!

So Bibek's aim is to be the first to get his name on level ten. We shall (not) see.

A day late

A few unpleasant things happened this few days but its all over. Gotta claw my way back to where i was. Work has been quite easy. I really like it when Japanese guest checks in. They hardly touch the room and leave tips for me to collect. All i need to do is to collect the money and touch the bed then I'm off to the next room.

Now once i clear this month's hurdle i'll be off to my next 3 months of slacking!

Its been rather slack working these few days. Cleaning french and japanese guest rooms is so much easier compared to indian ones. Plus i was lucky enough to barely avoid a huge checkout tomorrow since its my off. Anyway i've started to warm up with the china dudes working there. One even treated me to coffee and suggested going swimming with me during my off, since he was curious as to how i got so dark. Two days off and im so gonna rest well!

Anyway, its time for my hair to be chopped till it reaches a level where my messy look would no longer be relevant anymore. The supervisors said i looked too shaggy with my hair all over my face. Sigh and its just when i started to get into the messy hair look... Give me 7 months to get my messy look back!

Ah i wonder what will i get. I'm getting curious tell me!! haha=)

Alright Christmas is coming up. Yu qi is booking a pit for a bbq on the 23rd Dec. Hope i can get an off on that day. Work would be rather slack for these couple of days as there's a huge meeting event. Rooms are converted to meeting rooms and all i need to do is to standby for any cleaning or touch up i need to do. Will have two straight days off on Sunday and Monday.

The attachment sapped away all my life, so i'll take the two days to recharge! Nothing else about my life.

Stepped on broken glass a few days back but thought nothing of it since i plucked it out, till the pain escalates on for a few days more with a sharp piercing feeling on the sole of my right foot. My floor supervisor insisted i see the doctor, thus i was given three days MC along with an off consecutively. Rare opportunity for me to rest as well so I'm not gonna waste it.

I dread going back to work, but since I'm alr 1/6 way through might as well carry on. Who knows i might be able to reduce it to 1/5 of the time.

Celebrated Benkee's bday by catching Jennifer's body and dining at Cafe Cartel thereafter. I swear its been sooo long since i had sooo much fun! Look at how happy i am in those photos! =) Catching a movie and then having dinner was something really simple, but the atmosphere was great with them around. Especially so when we all have so little time to meet up like this. Next one is Loazheng's bday, while Yu Qi said he wanted to do a BBQ for christmas. So technically it'll be two more of these type of meetup... unless my attachment doesn't permit me...sigh.

Guess it's been a while since i did such a proper post along with pictures eh? I can't say i've gotten used to work; i can never get used to such a life. All i can say is that its rubbing off already and i don't get the same amount of dread as when i first started.

Just came back from the chalet to celebrate Sylvia's bday. It was such a last minute thing and some things were screwed up. Lucky bb's dad got the chalet for free or we would have to spend more. The senior police officer's mess is not really great in fact, however its the fun we all had that made up for it. We managed to sing karaoke free for an hour illegally till we're discovered. bb was in charge of cooking the food while i was in charge of stoking the flames. Tough job and i was the last to eat, still it was satisfying eating the food we cooked. Played some fun drinking games in which i was the clown most of the time since i got a "trump" card.

Booked out of chalet and had alcohol for breakfast, how wonderful... Well the rest are having thier attachment now as I'm typing and mine's starting coming Wednesday. Good luck people!

Still its over and im gonna take a well deserved break. Going over to Mandarin Oriental today to submit some personal details then meeting up with Alan to catch Inglorious Basterds. Hmm i realize im getting to dislike working in a hotel more and more... I knew it that hospitality wasnt my cup of tea. Hate having to initiate conversation with total stangers and being trapped inside a building for many hours without seeing the sky.

Work begins for me today. I think this is by far the toughest work schedule I've received by far, with around 3 days working double shift(16 hour) and one which is till 2.30 am. still its alright as there would be 2 days where Alan do double shift with me. Just hope Alan and Sylvia would get used to their jobs.

Sent Yu Qi off yesterday, while Bb's leaving 6.00am tomorrow morning.

The week is over once again. Bb, Sylvia, Jodi and interviews have taken up my week. Anyway i've gotten my attachment at Mandarin Oriental alongside Qh, Eazy and Azizi. My next week is gonna be busy with work in Swissotel working as a runner for F1. Would be working with my friends for the job.

Bb is going over to Cambodia for two weeks. He would return back to Singapore around the same time as Kw i suppose.

He even brought me over to Jupiter but did not like me wearing spacesuits so he took mine off. It might be a very abusive relationship but he's Ah Tiong leh!

Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Received a call from Miss Deon yesterday while i was watching videos in NP. Was told to head down to Mandarin Oriental Hotel for interview today, so off i went thinking i was the only lucky one... only to find out a whole lot were down for interview too. Naive Samuel naive... Round 1 of interview nearly freaked me out. The guys were going in two by two and there were nine people for interview. Crossed my fingers for me to go in with either Qh, Nani or Zaki and end up i was the last and the only one. Still it went smoothly and i proceeded to round two with a few guys eliminated. Round two saw Nani and a guy from HL eliminated leaving QH and me. So we were told to wait for their call to proceed on to round three for the final showdown.

Met up with the gays and tribades today again for a farewell lunch/dinner at seoul garden. Had loads of fun laughing at stupid things. Proceeded to watch the most horrible thing in the cinema, Dance Flick. Its sooo horrible talking about it could destroy an entire city.

Well after an adjustment, i was still able to carry my plans for Thursday. Was the last to reach my area. Bb kw sylvia and jodi were waiting for me. Headed to pulau ubin. It started pouring once we set foot on that island. Still we went on with our plans cycling in the rain wearing raincoats. FUN TO THE MAX!! Now the buns at the back of my body's aching. Jodi bought a baby rabbit from the owner of the wild boar. Btw the boar's name is Jack -_-" Headed to settlers cafe thereafter and had even more fun playing the board games.

Did blood donation today. Wasn't a good experience this time. Imagine a huge needle in your skin being adjusted, pulled out and poked back in and kept twisting and turning by the nurse while i was looking at the entire thing. Played lan with Ahmad and gang for a while and headed home.

Been on a jogging/running spree this few days. Went over to jog at east coast park with Bb yesterday night. Guess the air is fresher at the beach as i dint feel tired after jogging and even sprinting at the end. Maybe i should jog more at the beach. All i'm waiting for now is for my eczema to clear up, skin to be back to the original state so as to be eligible for blood donation. Besides that, i'm also waiting for the peeps in poly to finish up with their exams then we'll have fun=)

Nafa test over, i screwed up all my stations. Still the satisfying fact was that i came in 5th for 2.4km run. So proud of myself that i didn't stop at all and even increased my pace at the last stretch to a sprint.=)Well if i had been training regularly i would have come in second. Nani thought i would be second. But still haha=) I couldn't remember my timing as i was too tired to listen. Now the treatment for my eczema begins because i wanna do blood donation again! Army medical is on the 13th of October at 0900 hours. Booked the same date together with Qh Zaki and Mansur.

Bb and Kw came over today for jogging. I'm seriously lacking in stamina. Had wanted to run 2.4km only but ended up running 3km instead.Still It was refreshing. They came over washed up and had fun. They just left so here i am with nothing much to do. I fell in love with songs by metro station!

Yesterday was a blast! Saw a pretend malay wedding between Taufiq and Ruby in class. Was very cool took many picture although they're not with me. Went off to meet bb sylvia and kw at far east. bb wanted to get something but could not find it so we took a cab and rushed down to Sentosa for kw and Sylvia wanted to suntan. THEY DINT TELL ME THEY WANTED TO SUNTAN! I brought the wrong clothing as i thought we were playing luge only. Still it was fun.Many pictures of us in sentosa but as usual, blogger's screwed up.I've uploaded them on facebook!

Birthday with a twist

Finished our event today. Was rather fun, but all the way through i was feeling weird because the whole class was celebrating my birthday but it ain't my birthday. The project was successful in some ways as the rest of the class liked the games and it wasn't boring so our events management was still passable. Hope Miss Lim likes it. Anyway the corridor of my house got splashed with paint by the loan sharks, but the funny thing was that it's a case of mistaken identity. The amateurs even drew on a nearby wall apologizing for their mistake. It's supposed to be our neighbors at the other end of the block. Mum quarreled with the neighbors while i forced them to clean up our mess, but well they have a even worse mess to deal with as the pups went on to deal with the real debtors. Can't believe loan shark syndicate had to resort to hiring low I.Q runners. At least get those with minimum 'o' level certificate so that their feather brains can at least differentiate door numbers. Well so long guys!

Met up with Bb to get my clothes for the dinner and dance. Jodi is supposed to tag along but she could not make it at the last minute while Sylvia was in Genting now i think she's back. Bought my clothes and proceeded to catch up. The first fifteen minutes is really touching, quite amusing too. I was skeptical initially thinking it was very kiddy, but turns out there were serious aspects in the movie like miscarriage and death of loved ones. Very interesting unlike G.I Joe; explosions every second lol.

Blogger is still screwed up. Lousy really lousy, maybe i'll switch to other blogging mediums?

Went back to my secondary school today for the national day celebration. Many things have changed. The current NPCC batch lost the culture set up by my batch, though NPCC still remains the silliest of all uniform group. Saw old friends and ex teachers. Brings back lots of fond memories that ITE could never offer me. Met up with Qh later on for movie. Went to catch G.I Joe. Its only for those no-brainers who only enjoy actions. I got bored with it as there were too much of it. Not as good as i thought it to be.

Meeting Yu Qi coming sunday after work to ton overnight at the beach. I need some air, and just be quiet. Hope rain doesn't spoil it.

Been watching war films these few days. I like the fighting scenes as its full of suspense as to who gets killed next. But war is not something to be taken lightly, lives are lost and in turn affects the victim's family. Its interesting to see it come alive in Spielberg's mind but never fun for it to become reality. Anyway, i got my 1.2k scholarship! I'm as happy as a lark! As if larks are happy in the first place -_-

Now i can't wait for my cough to stop. Its getting really irritating with the lousy throat of mine. Someone slit my throat! Not really, i'm worried about the pain...

Alright an update, havent been doing so since there's nothing much exciting to update about. Went to catch Fernando Torres and Jamie Carragher at velocity, the crowd was overwhelming but i managed to see them, Qh only got to see the hair poor thing. There's supposed to be pictures but blogger's screwed. Fell really sick after that and missed school for three days. Now I'm better except for the incessant coughing that's forcing my lungs out of my throat (do you consider that getting well?) Swissotel called me and Qh back so i'm working today.

Fell sick yesterday but thought nothing much of it as it wasnt so bad. It got worse when i was sleeping as the mucus flowed back into my throat and i choked on it. The germs in the mucus also caused my throat to be slightly infected now its sore. Sorry this is really graphic and disgusting haha! Smallville is finally out at a time where i can follow it at a convenient time wohoo!

Caught Harry Potter and the half blood prince today with Kw and bb at the cathay the one at doby ghaut. Its basically what is in the books except much shorter. Too bad there was'nt much screenplay for emma watson. Besides i think bonnie wright is as much pretty as well! Rather entertaining as we were making random jokes during the movie.

Alright i better stop before Atiqah starts complaining I'm posting philosophical nonsense. School has been a drag. We ain't even learning anything much except that now Elvin is teaching us how to operate the Opera system which to me is something useful. Oh Oh one more thing i can't wait for next week because LIVERPOOL IS COMING TO SINGAPORE!! WOHOO!!. Qh and i are going over to Vivo city after school next Friday to catch two stars at the Addidas shop, followed by going over to the Clarke Quay area to catch the soccer team taking a boat ride on the following day!

First thing my classmates talked about was my hair. They said i resembled some 80's gangster. Retro look lah haha :p Some made comparison to when i shaved, a world of difference. Just came back from my haircut. Now its neater and more comfortable. Meeting up with friends whom i have not met for some time was awesome, lesson was the total opposite of it. Well few changes in my class, Shyda switched class, Serene dropped out, Jovin would not be coming back anytime soon.

Met up with bb and Jodi and went to AMK's industrial area to get bb's macbook repaired. I hate industrial areas. Traveled to clarke quay to dine and play board games at settlers cafe. Of all the games played, i enjoyed Taboo the most. It depends on whether the player is spontaneous anot and luckilly we all were =) Headed to the area where the opposition parties hold their view and started playing on the stage and taking photos. Tomorrow is my last day working as a runner for the AYG event. Overall its been an enriching experience. The least i could learn was the layout of the hotel. If i were to work there in the future i won't go missing. Today was really slack as there's not much laundry left to return. Guess tomorrow would be a long day as there's nothing else left to do. Realized that not only Yao felt the way he said yesterday but it extends to the rest of them as well...

I wouldn't call this an epiphany but rather something i should have woke up from long ago even though i said i would in the past but i did not. I put myself in this and i gotta learn to live with it, period. Now that i've wake up, i realize lots of things are gonna happen in quick succession from now on. Take for example, i received a letter to go for a medical to determine my health for army. In a few more years I'm gonna shave again. Its all happening very soon! Cheerios!

Yao said something today which totally make sense. Qh u should know what was being said. I enjoy listening to yao talk. His physique and the way he carries himself reminds me of teacher Amos, my P6 tuition teacher. Its super similar! Today we handled the guest's clothes(undergarments included) directly. Those were the lost and found clothes. Yao and Cao Kun were making dirty jokes while Qh went away as he don't like dirty clothes. Overall it was pretty relaxing for today. The management wanted us to come back as part-timers. I'm still considering... Grant me a place for attachement and I'll be your man.

Thoughts are flooding my brain all at once. I'm afraid this mortal thinking device would not be able to handle the huge capacity any longer. In this world there has to be balance. There will be sinners and saints, winners and losers, rich and poor. There can't be only one of them. I don't enjoy being the underdog at all...

Land of AYG

Work nowadays have become rather tedious.Our duties is now to wait for further instructions. Its rather difficult as we have to wait for our money where one minute is like one hour. Nah I'm just talking crap but now that the losers of AYG are going back home in disgrace, we have not much laundry to return. The problem now is the sorting out of the laundry as some of it are sent to another hotel for washing and it got mixed up there. So now comms have no idea which laundry belongs to who and are having a headache over it.

I found out a secret: There is beauty everywhere, only if you know where to look. Well sharing secrets like these sort is nice, but what i really want is someone to share my life with=)

Turns out i still met bb and sylvia after all. Dint get to do tie dye or acid wash, but we had a fun time going to high class version of haji lane. went to vivo for dinner den hang out at starbucks surfing the net. At least my last day of holiday was well spent. All the talk coming from them saying they're gonna emigrate leaving me all alone in s'pore makes me wanna go with them too=( I WANT MORE OF SUCH MEETUPS!=)

Once upon a time there were around 500 laundries to return to the land of AYG. It was a beautiful scenery until one day, the evil empire named Communications sent its minions of doom to assign only two runners to return the laundries to the beautiful land of AYG, instead of the usual 4 or 5. The two poor knights, Samuel and Moni did they're best to obey the evil lords but to no avail. There were still 200 laundries left. The land of beautiful AYG moaned and groaned but there's nothing the running knights could do for they're spent. In the end the knights decided to escape the evil lords at the usual 11pm. There was no happy ending for the land of AYG, evil empire Communications and the two poor knights.

Work today was fine even though there was no Moni and Wesley. Did AYG return laundry with Ru Jun and found out we had the same sentiments of a particular officer. The way he described was really funny. Had dinner together with him and Qh during which he pointed out that Qh had a 'china' face while i look Singaporean. Was laughing hard because everyone has been calling Qh Chinaman and this time even the real deal said he looked china. Well to those who say i look more China then Qh I'm afraid that you're very wrong heh :p Spent our last hour watching The Incredible Hulk on HBO. Jealous? haha well we all aint have anything to do so we set up a mini theatre where the seat was the huge yellow trolley. Qh preferred to stand Ru Jun and i took the front seat while Cao Kun took the back.

My next off is coming Friday. Hoping Bb and Sylvia would be free to come my house to do their tie dye and acid washes. If not i wouldn't know what else to do with my off. I wanna watch Transformers 2, anyone??

Work has been awesome up till now. Made friends with Moni and Wesely, but they aint regular since the new runners took up their job. I'll still see Moni coming Saturday and Wesely today. Thought my day yesterday would slow to a crawl but it wasnt so bad! I was given more jobs to do so killed alot of time. Plus I'm always walking around the entire hotel whenever I'm free with Wesely and Moni, killing more time. Moni's not working today but i have Qh and Wesley so its still awesome.

Dinner and Aston's two days ago was great=)
